(NYSE: CVNA) will Tuesday open its new 130,000-square-foot vehicle inspection center in Greenfield. The online auto retailer says, at full capacity, the facility will employ approximately 500 workers.
Carvana is not disclosing its financial investment in the inspection center. However, the company says the facility will increase production in the Midwest with annotation, full paint facilities, mechanical repair and high-definition photography.
Carvana says the Greenfield facility is the result of growing demand. The company is also launching a presence in the South Bend and Elkhart markets.
"Indianapolis has played a pivotal role in our rapid expansion in the Midwest, and is now home to both an Inspection Center and a Car Vending Machine," said Ernie Garcia, founder and chief executive officer of Carvana. "This deep presence in Indianapolis means we can now offer as-soon-as-next-day delivery to Elkhart and South Bend, and as of today, grow our presence to four total markets across the state."
Late last year, Carvana opened its Car Vending Machine facility on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
