Ohio-based CareSource, a multi-state health insurance provider that includes Indiana, has committed $1 million in a partnership to invest in affordable housing in the Hoosier State. The partnership is part of a $50 million investment in affordable housing projects across the country.
CareSource says the investment with Finance Fund Capital Corporation and Indiana-based Terebinth Group will provide access to capital for development in low-and-moderate-income communities, and specifically will support Terebinth’s portfolio of 99 housing units serving over 300 people with disabilities in Indiana.
“CareSource recognizes affordable housing affects all facets of health, both on an individual and community level. We’re proud that by investing with these organizations, we’re able to increase our ability to serve those with complex needs and positively impact their social determinants of health,” said CareSource Indiana President Steve Smitherman.
