Career Pathways Website Expands to Multiple States

A career pathways initiative has received a nationwide boost. The Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center For Assisted Living has announced the expansion of CareForTheAging.org to 17 states.
The website aims to address the shortage of caregivers in the long-term and post-acute care sector. The IHCA/INCAL says the expanded website is a collective effort involving multiple long-term and post-acute health care associations from throughout the country. Investments from individual states and support from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living contributed to the expansion.
"Workforce recruitment and retention is one of the most pressing challenges confronting long term care providers today," said Zach Cattell, president of IHCA/INCAL. “We are laser-focused on giving our members the tools they need to address this shortage while equipping tomorrow’s workforce with resources they need to launch a successful career in this rapidly growing field."
The IHCA/INCAL says the expansion also comes with enhancements to the website, including a new member portal that gives IHCA/INCAL members access to candidate interest forms submitted by visitors seeking new career opportunities. Recruiters can use the portal to more quickly contact potential candidates.
The new states involved with the website include Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
CareForTheAging.org provides a variety of resources to job seekers, including state-specific education requirements and salaries, as well as information on skilled nursing and assisted living providers who are actively recruiting.
