Expo Aims to Keep Workers in NE Indiana

Three Allen County Rotary clubs will Saturday host the 2018 Career Connections Expo on the campus of IPFW. The event will feature more than 50 businesses and organizations from throughout the region to discuss career opportunities for students nearing graduation and other job seekers.
The expo will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the IPFW Athletic Center. Tim Gibson, president of the Rotary Club of Fort Wayne, says the goal of the event is to help job seekers find careers in the region to keep them in the community.
"So many times, we hear that students have a difficult time finding local jobs," Gibson said in a news release. "I know in my own family, my daughter really wanted to stay in Fort Wayne, but had a hard time finding a position. The Expo is designed to help students find open positions with area companies."
The Rotary Club of Fort Wayne is co-sponsoring the expo along with Anthony Wayne Rotary and Summit City South Rotary. Organizers say admission to the expo will benefit four area charities.
