Canadian manufacturer to establish U.S. presence in Bloomington

Almvoy American Inc., a manufacturer of steel infrastructure products headquartered in Canada, is planning to expand operations to the U.S. with a new location in Bloomington.
Details of the company’s financial investment in the project were not announced, and it was also not immediately clear how many jobs would be created as a result.
Almvoy manufactures a variety of steel products used in the telecommunications, infrastructure and industrial markets, including monopoles, equipment platforms and solar structures.
The Bloomington Economic Development Corp. said in a news release that the new facility will enhance the company’s ability to serve its U.S. clients with faster lead times and increased production capacity.
“Our mission is to build more than structures—we build trust, partnerships, and a strong, structured future,” President Dominic Blago said in the release. “Establishing a U.S. presence in Bloomington allows us to better serve our customers and collaborate closely with local partners.
Almvoy did not state whether it plans to build a brand new facility or operate out of an existing building. A request from Inside INdiana Business for more information was not returned Thursday.
Eric Greiner, U.S. market operations manager for Almvoy, said in the release that the company chose Bloomington because of the diverse and energetic community.
“From its strong manufacturing base to the spirit of IU and Hoosier sports, this city feels like home,” Greiner said. “My family and I are thrilled to return to our alma mater and be part of a place that’s shaping the future while honoring its past.”
A timeline for Almvoy to begin operations in Bloomington is not yet known.
