Caesars Entertainment Inc. and Eldorado Resorts Inc. have completed their merger, creating the largest casino and entertainment company in the U.S., which includes several properties in Indiana.
The combined company will operate casinos in 16 states under the Caesars name.
The New Jersey Gaming Commission on Friday approved the $17 billion deal, following approval by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
In approving the deal, the IGC requires Caesar to divest several Indiana properties, including Horseshoe Hammond casino, Caesars Southern Indiana Casino in Florence, and Tropicana Evansville.
The new company will maintain ownership of Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville and Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson.
The divestiture must be completed by the end of the year.
