The company, which is a subsidiary of Illinois-based Elkay Manufacturing Co., is planning to invest $3.9 million into improvements at the Marshall County facility. The Culver Town Council Tuesday approved a 10-year tax abatement for the project.
Elkay employs more than 300 in Culver, making it one of the town’s largest employers. Its client list for cabinets includes Home Depot, Lowes, Menards and Sears. Town Council President Ginny Munroe says "Elkay’s continued growth and investment in Culver are important to us, which is why we are proud to support Elkay in this expansion. I believe the path taken by the Town Council to provide tax abatement predictability that secured the Elkay expansion in 2015 set a course for today’s proposed expansion."
Elkay is family-owned and opened its Culver location 15 years ago. The company’s full manufacturing scope includes cabinets, sinks and plumbing fixtures.
