South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has appointed Christina Brooks as diversity and inclusion officer. She previously served as manager for staff diversity recruiting at the University of Notre Dame. Brooks will lead the development and implementation of the mayor’s initiative to promote equal opportunity within the city’s work force and operations. Buttigieg launched his diversity and inclusion initiative earlier this year with an executive order. Brooks’ position was established to oversee the administration’s strategy to advance diversity in the city’s work force and contracts.
