Busse to Receive Red Coat Honor

The co-founder of Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics (Nasdaq: STLD) will receive a major honor from the Mad Anthonys Foundation. The organization has named Keith Busse its 2016 Red Coat recipient. The Red Coat is given to a person who has made a positive impact on the region and the state.
Mad Anthonys cited Busse’s philanthropic and community-support efforts as reasons for presenting the Red Coat to him this year. Busse has been involved in numerous charities and nonprofits, including Junior Achievement of Northern indiana and the National Kidney Foundation. He is also on the boards of trustees for the University of Saint Francis and Trine University, a member of the Northeast Indiana Regional Economic Development Partnership, and a co-founder of the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
"We can think of few people more deserving of this recognition than Keith," said Jim Kelley, president of the Mad Anthonys. "His business success has provided high-quality employment to thousands of people throughout northeast Indiana, and he’s been an active and enthusiastic supporter of our region for many years."
Busse said he was humbled and excited to be awarded the Red Coat. "It is an unbelievable honor to join such an esteemed and accomplished group – and, most importantly, I am happy to help the Mad Anthonys raise critical funds for the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation and Children’s Hope House."
Busse will receive the Red Coat at the organization’s annual Red Coat dinner on June 10.
