Building Permits Up In February

The Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis reports single-family building permits in central Indiana rose in February. The organization says 701 new home permits were issued year-to-date, up from 646 during the same period last year.
The organization says local builders seem optimistic about the rise in building permits. Steve Hatchel, vice president at Arbor Homes, says they are hopeful to see the trend continue throughout the rest of the year.
"We continue to be encouraged by the increase in permit numbers, especially since the last 3 years have been relatively flat year over year," said Hatchel,
The February permits created over $28 million in local taxes and generated over $125 million in economic impact.
