Brooks Running Co. Plans Whitestown Jobs

Seattle-based Brooks Running Co. is planning to locate a footwear and apparel distribution center in Boone County. The 400,000 square-foot facility in the AllPoints at Anson business park in Whitestown is expected to involve more than 130 new jobs by 2023.
The company did not immediately reveal the planned investment total for the new operation. Chief Operating Officer Holger Mueller says "with customers across the globe, we’re excited about building a new distribution center in Indiana where we’ll be closer to more runners. Building a new world-class facility in Indiana will help us deliver products to runners more timely and efficiently, making it easier for people to go out and enjoy their run."
Whitestown, which is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Indiana, has been on a roll recently with regard to economic development. Last month, Pennsylvania-based AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. cut the ribbon on a $50 million pharmaceutical distribution operation that is expected to bring 150 jobs to Boone County. Another $50 million project, Shoppes at Whitestown, also moved forward last month with the Whitestown Plan Commission’s approval of the retail development. In April 2016, two companies — Switzerland-based REGO FIX and Carmel-based Telamon — announced they were locating facilities to the town, which could result in more than 70 jobs and millions of dollars in investment.
The performance gear provider has been offered $800,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. Construction is expected to begin in the fall and be complete in early 2019.
Boone County Economic Development Corp, Executive Director Molly Whitehead says "as a high-performance footwear and apparel distributor, we are confident that Brooks Running Company will find Boone County to be a good fit for their new distribution center. We look forward to partnering with Brooks to help improve our overall community."
The county and the town have also approved incentive packages for Brooks Running Co. You can connect to more about the company’s plans by clicking here.
