The new shop from Dana-based Brooke’s Candy Co. will be in downtown Terre Haute. The company was founded more than a decade ago and its presence has grown rapidly in recent years.
The company has participated in initiatives like the state-supported Indiana Grown program and has previously reached agreements with Greenfield food incubator and vendor, Husk, as well as retail chains like Marsh and most recently, Market District, which has a store in Carmel and multiple locations in Ohio. Brook’s Candies products can now be found in many locations throughout the state. The company has also collaborated with Terre Haute-based Rex Roasting Co. for creations that include a coffee influence.
The company has also received national attention. In previous years, Brooke’s Candies has been a featured item in high-profile awards show gift bags, including The Grammys.
Seth Vicars, the nephew of co-owner Brooke Schmidt and an Indiana State University graduate, will be manager of the new location next to the Indiana State University Foundation office and book store at 5th and Wabash in Terre Haute.
