In a notice to the state, the company says the decision will result in the layoffs of 95 employees over the next several months.
The company says the closure, which will begin August 24, is due to "the resourcing of the product that is produced in Bristol." No other details were provided.
The workers affected by the decision are hourly and salaried employees and are not represented by a union. Diversified Machine says a plant announcement has been made and employees will soon be notified in writing of the closure.
The announcement comes more than two years after Diversified Machine detailed plans to lay off 500 workers from the plant. The company said at the time the layoffs were due to the loss of a contract with its largest customer.
A subsidiary of Michigan-based Chassix, Diversified Machine manufactures components for automotive parts.
