Briarwood Health Employees Facing Layoffs

TLC operates facilities in Indiana and Florida.

Marion-based TLC Management Inc. has announced nearly 90 employees will be out of work this spring. In a notice to the state, the company says the cuts are due to the closing of Briarwood Health and Rehabilitation in Indianapolis.

TLC Management says the layoffs will occur April 1. The company is planning to move Briarwood’s residents and equipment to a new facility, Creekside Health and Rehabilitation on the city’s east side.

The layoffs will affect 87 employees, more than half of which work less than 20 hours per week. TLC says all affected employees will have until April 1 to apply for a transfer to the new facility.
