Bremen Added to Main Street Program

A town in Marshall County is the latest to join the Indiana Main Street program. Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb, along with the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, welcomed the town of Bremen to the program, which focuses on the revitalization and preservation of historic Indiana downtown areas.
Bremen joins more than 120 other communities in the program. Bremen’s Main Street organization, Bremen Community Cares Inc., plans to improve the town’s downtown area through coordinated downtown events, supporting downtown businesses and encouraging revitalization and restoration projects.
"The Main Street designation for the Town of Bremen is a big step towards enhancing the economic vitality of their community." said Holcomb. "I commend Bremen for undertaking such an important initiative and leveraging OCRA as a partner to help assure their community is one that embraces the historic fabric of the downtown and the economic potential it possesses."
The Indiana Main Street program uses a four-point approach to downtown development. Those points include organization, design, promotion and economic vitality. You can learn more about the program by clicking here.
