‘Shining Light’ Attracts More Tech Jobs

A South African technology company is growing its North American headquarters in Indianapolis. iLAB LLC says it will invest nearly $1.5 million to lease and equip its new office at the Chase Tower in downtown Indianapolis. Executives say the expansion will create nearly 100 jobs by 2019.

The company has already started hiring for software engineering, business development and support positions.

Managing Director Gerry Bailey says Indiana is a very business forward state. He says Indy was the best option for the expansion.

“We’ve seen fantastic growth over the last five years, expanding our customer base through strategic partnerships with the world’s most respected names in technology. Indianapolis has served as an exceptional launch platform for our North American operations and a key factor in fueling our growth strategy across the globe by adding 100 more employees over the next five years,” Bailey said.

iLAB could receive nearly $1.3 million in conditional tax and training incentives from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

“Indy’s tech sector is booming and this growth is due in large part to the quality and innovation of our workforce. I’m very proud that we have become a magnet for top talent and I am delighted to welcome iLAB to the growing list of companies that are selecting Indy as the place to expand, invest and succeed,” Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard said.

iLAB opened its offices on the north side of Indianapolis in 2011. The company provides software quality and performance testing services. iLAB currently employs more than 500 workers around the world.
