Defense Contractor Growing in Greene County

Springville-based Integrity Defense Services Inc. has announced plans to grow its presence in Greene County. The defense contractor says it will invest more than $1 million and add 160 jobs over the next four years. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the growth is part of an effort to meet demand for the company’s military support services, which includes a five-year contract to fabricate fuel-stand equipment for the U.S. Marine Corps. 

The company is debuting its 10-acre property in Springville, which features five buildings focusing on fabrication, assembly, paint and electronics services for the U.S. military and Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. IDSI has already hired eight new employees and plans to double its workforce over the next year. The new jobs are expected to offer average salaries more than double the Greene County average wage and nearly 40 percent higher than the state’s average wage.

"I was born and raised in Greene County and have lived here most of my life," said David Burkett, president of IDSI. "By building IDSI, we are making a long-term commitment to our community and to Indiana. We are proud to support NSWC Crane’s Navy, Marine Corps, Army and other critical needs, while advancing Indiana’s defense industry and creating high-wage job opportunities for Hoosiers."

The IEDC has offered IDSI up to $1.8 million in conditional tax credits and $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. Radius Indiana has also offered the company up to $50,000 in training services.

IDSI was founded in 2017 and is a certified small business and a Historically Underutilized Business Zone. HUBZone is a program that helps small businesses land government contracts. In order to receive the HUBZone certification, at least 35 percent of the company’s employees must live within the designated zone and IDSI says it plans to exceed that requirement by hiring nearly 50 percent from within Greene County.
