Bose Law, Public Affairs Group Hires Victor Smith Smith spent four years as Indiana secretary of commerce.

Outgoing Indiana Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith has a new job in the private sector. Smith will join Indianapolis-based Bose Public Affairs Group LLC group as a partner and parent firm Bose McKinney & Evans LLP as a partner in the Business and Governmental Services groups. Smith became secretary of commerce when Governor Mike Pence took office in 2013.

During Smith’s time at the helm of the state’s economic development efforts, Indiana tallied nearly 1,100 business expansions and locations, representing some $15.5 billion in investment and over 93,000 jobs.

Bose Public Affairs Group Managing Principal Doug Brown says "as secretary of commerce, Victor amassed an unrivaled portfolio of economic development achievements for Indiana – benefiting Hoosiers in his home state and citizens throughout our country. We look forward to him bringing his incredible skill-set to our firms, and to our clients as he helps them attain even greater levels of success."

The Muncie native previously served as chief executive officer of CDS Engineering, a manufacturing company with a presence in the United States, United Kingdom and Asia. He has 17 years of experience in operations, sales and executive roles.

In addition to Indianapolis, Bose McKinney & Evans and Bose Public Affairs Group have offices in Fort Wayne and Washington D.C.
