Boomerang Ventures names studio director
Indianapolis-based Boomerang Ventures on Wednesday announced the appointment of Dick Aderman as studio director. Aderman, who previously served as an executive-in-residence at Boomerang, will lead the firm’s venture studio arm.
Boomerang Ventures is a venture capital firm focused on early growth-stage connected health technology companies. Boomerang Studio works to develop technologies, products, and companies related connected health.
Aderman currently serves as president of The iTeam, a network of CEO think tanks in Indianapolis. He previously served as CEO of Hycor Biomedical Ltd. in California and chief operating officer of West Lafayette-based Quadraspec.
Dr. Eric Beier, partner and chief medical officer at Boomerang Ventures, said Aderman was selected after a 17-month search process.
“Dick’s extensive experience and qualifications make him the ideal fit for this position, and we are pleased to have hired from within the company as he has been serving as an XiR at Boomerang Studio since September 2022,” Beier said in a news release.
In addition to running the day-to-day operations of Boomerang Studio, the firm said Aderman will work to identify new business opportunities, select new projects and establish and support new companies.
“The position is designed to make a difference in the businesses we evaluate, invest in, and drive to exit. It also promotes an economic impact in the local, regional, and national healthcare/life sciences start-up ecosphere,” Aderman said. “As a mentor, multiplier, and leader, it is a chance to make a difference in the lives of our leaders and employees. Ultimately, it is an opportunity to advance human health and healthcare delivery for people worldwide.”
Boomerang Ventures also announced Thursday it has promoted Chief Innovation Officer Audrey Beckman to partner.
