Mayor Tom Henry will join executives from Brunswick Corporation at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, for a boat christening ceremony at its new facility in Fort Wayne.
Brunswick Fort Wayne Operations, a producer of Harris FloteBote and Cypress Cay pontoon boats, has invested more than $1.2 million to expand its operations in northern Indiana. The Company has already added 27 full-time positions, with plans to add up to 200 new jobs by 2016. Having outgrown its existing Fort Wayne manufacturing facility, the Company moved to the 360,000-square-foot plant on Hadley Road and will now celebrate and christen the first boat built at the new facility. The Company has manufactured recreational boats for more than 50 years in Fort Wayne.
