The Indiana State Board of Education has unanimously selected Matt Voors as its new executive director. Voors, who most recently served as majority attorney for the Indiana Senate, will begin his new role September 11.

Governor Eric Holcomb recommended Voors to the position. Voors previously served as chief legal counsel and deputy commissioner for the Indiana Department of Transportation and general counsel for the Indiana Department of Education.

"I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to serve Hoosier students," said Voors. "I am looking forward to working closely with Superintendent McCormick and State Board of Education members and staff as we collectively work to continue progress for all Hoosier students, teachers and schools."

Prior to working in state government, Voors was an attorney with law firm Frost Brown Todd in Indianapolis.
