Bluelock CEO: Acquisition Offers Growth Potential

Indianapolis-based Bluelock has been acquired by InterVision, which has regional offices in California and St. Louis. Bluelock was founded in 2006 and provides disaster recovery and infrastructure expertise. Chief Executive Officer Christopher Clapp tells Inside INdiana Business InterVision’s plan is to not only retain the Indianapolis workforce, but potentially grow it, as InterVision establishes the office as the hub for Bluelock’s "hosted offerings." He says InterVision’s portfolio could also be reflected more in Indy.

"We’re already contemplating the idea that there are some of the services in the broad InterVision portfolio that might be better centered — if you will — in Indianapolis as they grow," he says. "The other thing is it’s just a very dynamic market and there are constantly evolving, new offerings that are coming up, such as managing public cloud and helping people migrate to public cloud. And those aren’t areas that are strong areas for either organization and the people here have an opportunity to have a big impact on those and grow in those areas, as well."

InterVision calls Bluelock "a visionary and leader" in the Disaster Recovery as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service categories. InterVision CEO Aaron Stone calls Bluelock "one of the most sought-after brands" in DRaaS, adding it has "built a top notch organization with an industry leading DRaaS solution, a loyal client base, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This acquisition positions InterVision to better address the changing needs of our clients in today’s high-­uptime and compliance-­driven IT Marketplace."

Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed, but Clapp says the partnership is "good from just about every respect" and he "seldom see(s) combinations that make more sense than this."
