Bloomington Health Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Barada is stepping down after nearly eight years at the helm of the non-profit. Barada joined the organization, when it was known as Bloomington Hospital Foundation, in 2013.

Barada led fundraising efforts for the expansion of the Hospice House, trauma departments at IU Health Bloomington and may other projects. He most recently oversaw a $675,000 national grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help with community infrastructure for marginalized and underserved communities.

“Reflecting on these achievements, I am filled with immense pride and am grateful for these shared successes,” Barada said. “I can confidently say that, together with our incredible staff, board, and stakeholders, we have made great strides in improving numerous health-related issues across our region.”

Barada will continue as a member of BHF’s board of directors, as well as beginning a new position as vice president at IU Ventures, which he will transition to on December 4. BHF has already begun a search for its new president and CEO.
