Bloomington and Habitat Partner for Housing Announcement

The city of Bloomington and Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County will this afternoon announce an affordable housing imitative. The entities have entered a partnership they say “will substantially increase the city’s affordable housing stock over the next five years.”
HFHMC works to eradicate poverty housing by developing better and affordable homes in partnership with families in need. Bloomington’s Trail View neighborhood is HFHMC’s current housing development and is nearing completion.
“Affordable housing is a challenge in thriving cities like Bloomington across the country,” said Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton in a news release. “Identifying partnerships with outstanding nonprofit leaders like Habitat is essential to tackling this challenge, so that Bloomington can welcome new generations of residents and employers.”
