The Galaxy Community Conference at Indiana University will feature three days of hackathons, networking and training opportunities before the main events Tuesday and Wednesday.
IU Associate Dean of Research Technologies and Executive Director of the Pervasive Technology Institute Craig Stewart says "hosting the Galaxy Community Conference this year signifies the strength of IU’s research in bioinformatics and biology generally. It’s a great way for IU to help promote the importance of Galaxy software in the biology community in the U.S., and thank the Galaxy community for their support of the Jetstream project." Jetstream is the first science and engineering research cloud from the National Science Foundation.
University of Chicago Professor of Human Genetics Yoav Gilad will deliver the keynote speech Tuesday, which will focus on analyzing large gene regulatory data sets.
