Subscribe NowThe popularity of an annual biosciences industry gathering has pushed organizers to add another day. BioCrossroads Vice President of Communications Lori LeRoy says October’s two-day Indiana Life Sciences Summit in Indianapolis will offer a focus on innovation, commercialization and networking in a broader swath of sectors than in previous years, including advanced manufacturing and technology. She says it will bring together the "beautiful ecosystem" of one of Indiana’s signature industries.
LeRoy says companies and individuals have collaborated on deals before at the conference and is "kind of a spark plug to make other activity happen." Winners of this year’s New Venture Competition will get five minutes to pitch their plans to attendees.
BioCrossroads says the industry has a $59 billion impact on the state’s economy and employs more than 55,000 Hoosiers. It says Hoosier life sciences businesses annually export nearly $10 billion in new products.
