Bikeshare Program Boasts 2015 Growth

Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc. also added a new station in 2015, bringing the total number of locations to 27.
The organization says riders took 116,067 trips in 2015, logging about 240,112 miles. It estimates those trips resulted in more than 9.5 million calories burned and over 227,000 pounds of carbon offset. The group added a bikeshare station at OneAmerica Tower and welcomed a new station sponsor in the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis.
The bikeshare program launched in April 2014. Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc. says, since then, riders have purchased 2,674 annual memberships and 53,114 day passes.
In a release from Indianapolis Cultural Trail Inc., Executive Director Kären Haley said, "The Pacers Bikeshare program is truly having a positive impact on our community and on individuals lives. Like the Cultural Trail, the bikes are accessible year round and making it easy for anyone to use Pacers Bikeshare to explore and enjoy our downtown, travel to a meeting, or get exercise."
