Basketball legend Oscar Robertson will speak next week at Indiana State University. The Indianapolis native will kick off the school’s University Speakers Series Monday on the Terre Haute campus.
Robertson is considered by many to be the greatest all-around player in the history of the National Basketball Association. He was Rookie of the Year in 1961, a 12-time All-Star and the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1964. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and the International Basketball Hall of Fame.
"The Big O" has also become an advocate for kidney disease prevention, health and wellness and organ transplantation. He donated a kidney to his daughter Tia in 1997.
