Three Hoosier sports facilities are ranked among Stadium Journey Magazine’s Top 100 Stadium Experiences of 2016. Parkview Field, home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, is listed for the third consecutive year and ranks the highest among Indiana locations.
Parkview Field is ranked number 6 on the list, up three spots from last year’s list. The TinCaps set a franchise record for attendance at Parkview Field in 2016 with nearly 416,000 tickets sold.
"At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Parkview Field and the Fort Wayne TinCaps have once again been named as Stadium Journey’s best ballpark experience in all of minor league baseball for 2016," the magazine said. "This is the third consecutive season, and fifth out of the past six seasons, that Parkview Field has received this honor."
Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is ranked at number 26, down from 10th a year ago. The Compton Family Ice Arena, home to Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey, dropped significantly from 6th in 2015 to 89th in 2016. Notre Dame Stadium did not make the list after ranking 13th last year.
Ahead of Parkview Field on the list are Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, the Streets of St. Petersburg course for the Verizon IndyCar Series’ annual race, Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Daytona International Speedway and the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada.
