Missouri-based retailer Beauty Brands has announced plans to close 25 stores nationwide, include three in central Indiana. Chief Executive Officer Caryn Lerner says the decision comes as the company continues its efforts to "combat industry headwinds."
The Indiana locations affected by the move are located in Carmel, Fishers and Greenwood. The other affected stores are located in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska, Ohio, Iowa and North Carolina.
"In conjunction with the store closings, we will be reducing the staff in our headquarters office," Lerner said in a news release. "We have communicated with all the impacted employees in our home office and will work with them to assist in any way we can. We will also be communicating to stores as we finalize closure plans and will work with retail staff throughout this transition. Make no mistake, these are difficult decisions which we did not take lightly. We sincerely thank all our Beauty Brands employees for their hard work and dedication this year as we focus on growing our business and serving our loyal customers."
The company says 33 stores will remain open in 10 states.
