Batesville Tool & Die Acquires Tipton Company

Batesville Tool & Die is adding to its portfolio. The metal stamping manufacturer has acquired a majority interest in Tipton-based DC Coaters LLC. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
DC Coaters is an E-coat company, referring to the process of coating metal parts under the hood and under the body of vehicles to resist rust and corrosion, according to the company’s website. The company serves clients in the automotive and non-automotive industries in central Indiana.
"Adding DC Coaters as part of our corporation will enable us to be more logistically efficient on metal parts that require the E-coat process," said Jody Fledderman, president and chief executive officer of BTD. "We are excited to work with the management team at DC Coaters to provide future opportunity and growth for the existing employees and the Tipton area."
The acquisition was recently announced to the public, but actually took place in 2018 as BTD was celebrating its 40th anniversary. In a November interview on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Fledderman said the company continues to look toward future growth.
