A current member of the Indianapolis City-County Council has been selected to oversee the Indiana Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.

The INARF Board of Directors has named John Barth president and chief executive officer succeeding Steve Cook, who is retiring after four years at the helm.

In this role, Barth also serves as president and chief executive officer of Ability Indiana.

Barth represents District 7 in the city-county council.

INARF says Barth has served as chief operating officer at Managed Health Services. He’s also worked for the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.

“I’m honored by the opportunity to build upon Steve’s strong tenure at INARF and eager to get to work strengthening Indiana’s system to support people with disabilities,” said Barth.

His appointment is effective May 4.
