Barnes & Thornburg Forms Logistics Group

An Indianapolis law firm has formed a practice group dedicated to the logistics and transportation industry. Barnes & Thornburg says over 40 attorneys from its 13 offices nationwide will deal specifically with clients in logistics, supply chain and transportation operations.
The firm says the group will focus on six main areas of law: corporate, litigation, labor and employment, environmental, intellectual property and data security. The group will represent many different types of companies, from large international transportation and logistics companies to small- or medium-sized suppliers.
"Being already invested in the logistics and transportation industry, the formal addition of this group further reinforces our commitment to clients to help them understand the issues faced by companies in this industry," said Timothy Abeska, co-chair of the group. "This is just one way we aim to provide greater value and efficiency to our clients and future clients in this evolving and exciting industry."
Barnes & Thornburg says the group will advise clients on a range of topics, including regulatory compliance, fleet operations, corporate structure, finance, mergers and trademarks, among others. The group will host a logistics and transportation legal update seminar on April 12 in Chicago.
