Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is in the nation's capital today as part of White House events focusing on youth violence and other issues facing minority men and boys. Ballard is slated to attend a town hall meeting with President Barack Obama and meet with senior White House officials and mayors from throughout the country. July 20, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mayor Greg Ballard will travel to Washington, DC on Monday, July 21, 2014 to meet with senior administration officials and other mayors to discuss issues concerning youth violence in America's cities. The Mayor will also participate in a town hall meeting with President Barack Obama concerning the “My Brother's Keeper” initiative to address gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.

This marks the third time the Mayor has participated in meetings on this topic. The previous meetings occurred in August 2013 and February of this year.
