The two-day conference will focus on the effects of job loss due to international trade and automation, as well as rapid urbanization on small cities, towns and rural communities.
The theme of this year’s conference is "Vulnerable Communities: Research, Policy, & Practice." Ball State says, "Effectively confronting challenges facing nonmetropolitan communities and small cities requires better understanding the many dimensions of vulnerable communities, and encouraging interaction between academics who study these issues and policy makers who address them."
The event at the Ball State Alumni Center will include a keynote presentation from Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. You can connect to more about the conference and the schedule of speakers by clicking here.
