Ball State Raising Room & Board Rates

Ball State University has announced an increase in room and board rates for incoming freshmen in 2016. The Ball State Board of Trustees approved a 2.9 percent rate increase.
Bernard Hannon, vice president for business affairs and treasurer at Ball State, said students on the university’s premium plan will see no increase. He said that results in a weighted average increase of only 2.3 percent overall.
Hannon credits sound financial management as the main reason for keeping the increase to a minimum. "These modest increases will keep university rates well below our peers."
Last month, Indiana State University announced a 2.9 percent increase in room and board rates for most of its residence halls. Some residence halls will actually see a room and board rate reduction in the 2016-2017 school year.
