Ball State University has selected Paaige Turner as dean of its College of Communication, Information, and Media. Turner, who previously served as associate dean of the School of Communications at Webster University in Missouri, will begin her new role July 15.

Tuner will succeed Roger Lavery, who is retiring from the position. She has also served as the executive director of the National Communication Association. Ball State Interim Provost Marilyn Buck calls Turner an "excellent addition" to the university.

"During her time as an administrator and professor, she has exhibited outstanding leadership qualities, including establishing collaborative and strategic initiatives," Buck said in a news release.

Before joining Webster University, Turner served as an associate vice president, graduate director and faculty member at Saint Louis University. She earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from Purdue University.
