The Journal Gazette reports the Allen County-Fort Wayne Capital Improvement Board has approved incentives for a proposed $39 million plant near Fort Wayne International Airport. The move would preserve more than 1,000 jobs in the Allen County city. The paper says the board unanimously approved the $2.5 million in incentives.
BAE manufactures aircraft controls and other devices in Fort Wayne. The company currently operates in a former General Electric facility that is still owned by GE. The company had been reportedly looking at other locations, including sites in Ohio.
The proposal still needs to be approved by the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission.
