Babe of Wabash County Prepares to Grow

A nonprofit in Wabash County that helps families in need obtain diapers, clothes, and car seats, while also encouraging healthy life skills for children is set to move into a new office.
Babe of Wabash County will hold a grand opening on May 7 at its new location in Wabash.
The organization recently launched a coupon program that encourages parents to participate in certain activities such as going to the library or the pediatrician with their kids.
For each visit, the families earn coupons that can be redeemed at the Babe Store to purchase supplies like children’s clothes, diapers, strollers and wipes.
“The beautiful thing about the Babe coupon system is that it further encourages families to continue to seek out services that directly benefit their children,” said Katey Till, Babe of Wabash County executive director. “The Babe organization meant a lot to me and my family when my kids were little, and I know what it will do for other families.”
Till said that Babe also plans to start hosting classes for parents to help them learn about topics such as good nutrition and parenting skills that are essential to being a parent. There will also be a focus to promote good literacy skills in young children.
