The South Bend Awesome Fund will award three $1,000 grants on a quarterly basis.
The South Bend Awesome Fund is one of over 80 chapters worldwide of The Awesome Foundation. Each chapter is fully autonomous and is comprised of trustees who award the micro-grants. The foundation’s web site says each chapter chooses the types of projects it supports, which can range from arts, technology, community development and more.
Those interested in a grant from the South Bend Awesome Fund can submit an application online. Finalists are selected one week prior to the fund’s quarterly meeting and are required to give a five minute presentation at the quarterly meeting. Chapter members will then vote and award the grants to the top three vote recipients.
The fund says submissions should "highlight how grant funds will be used to make the South Bend area even more Awesome!" The first quarterly meeting will be held April 26.
