The state is hinting at more jobs for Tippecanoe County. A tweet from an Indiana Economic Development Corp. official suggests Heartland Automotive Inc. is about to expand. Governor Mike Pence says the company, which also has an operation in Greencastle, is expected to announce hundreds of new jobs in Lafayette “in the near future.” The manufacturer’s parent company is based in Japan and the Governor continues a trade mission in the Asian nation.

The company has been operating in Lafayette since 2001. It opened an $8.4 million facility last year.

The plant employs more than 100 and is a supplier for Lafayette-based Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc.
