Auto Parts Supplier to Open Jeffersonville Facility

Subscribe NowA subsidiary of Japan-based DENSO has announced plans to open a new distribution center in Jeffersonville. DENSO Products and Services Americas Inc., headquartered in Michigan, says it will invest nearly $10 million to lease and equip a 312,000-square-foot facility, creating up to 50 jobs by 2023.
The company is an automotive components sales and distribution company that supplies parts for original equipment service dealers and independent aftermarket service centers and retailers, according to its website. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the new facility at the River Ridge Commerce Center will help DENSO achieve higher fill rates, manage efficient inventory, control costs and meet growth targets.
"With our distribution strategy, we are embracing innovation to build the future of mobility," said Kazu Yanagawa, vice president of DENSO’s Supply Chain Management Group. "The center in Jeffersonville is strategically located to help meet the rising demand for DENSO’s top-quality replacement auto parts in the Northeast and Midwest. This new distribution center gives us next-day ground transportation access to the entire region."
The company has already begun hiring for the new full-time jobs, including warehouse, management, and administrative positions.
The IEDC has offered DENSO up to $325,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs. The city of Jeffersonville will offer additional incentives.
