AT&T has expanded its 4G LTE network to Princeton and Petersburg. The company has also announced a new mobile Internet cell site that has been activated in the Jasper area.

December 10, 2014

News Release

PRINCETON , Ind. – AT&T has expanded the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network to Princeton and Petersburg, bringing customers the latest generation of wireless network technology. AT&T launched 4G LTE in Evansville in March 2013, and this expanded coverage is part of its ongoing rollout across the area.

“Whether it's advanced manufacturing, health care or agriculture, our businesses count on having access to the latest technologies,” said State Rep. Tom Washburne. “This investment by AT&T is truly welcome, as it boosts not only our economic interests, but the connectivity of our citizens, as well.”

“We continue to see demand for mobile Internet skyrocket, and our 4G LTE network in Princeton and Petersburg responds to what customers want from their mobile experience — more, fast speeds, reliability, on the best devices,” said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana.

JASPER, Ind. – As part of its continuing network investment and ongoing 4G LTE rollout, AT&T has added a new mobile Internet cell site to expand AT&T 4G LTE coverage in the Jasper area. The new coverage is located north of Jasper near U.S. 231 and West 500 North.

“With this new cell site, our citizens and businesses can count on an even better mobile Internet experience,” said State Sen. Mark Messmer. “Every day we're getting closer to a fully connected future, and we appreciate AT&T’s continued investments in keeping Jasper on the cutting edge.”

The new cell site is one part of AT&T's ongoing efforts to expand 4G LTE coverage and to drive investment and innovation to deliver the nation’s best, most advanced mobile Internet experience for customers.

“As part of the Jasper community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is another way we’re accomplishing that,” said Bill Soards, president of AT&T Indiana. AT&T has invested nearly $1.75 billion in its wireless and wired networks in Indiana between 2011 through 2013, driving a wide range of upgrades to enhance speed, reliability, coverage and performance for residents and business customers.

AT&T’s 4G Network

This expansion is part of AT&T’s Project Velocity IP (VIP), a multi-year plan to invest for growth, announced in Fall 2012. Through this investment, AT&T is supporting its customers’ growing desire for high-speed Internet access and new mobile, app and cloud-based services. As part of Project VIP, AT&T is deploying small cell technology, macro cells and additional Distributed Antenna Systems, which will increase the density of our wireless network. The wireless network densification will further improve network quality and increase spectrum efficiency.
