The Athenaeum Foundation will announce plans Tuesday afternoon for a $1.2 million renovation and capital campaign. The renovations to the historic downtown Indianapolis building are being made thanks to a major lead gift donation.

Officials from the Athenaeum Foundation, the Indianapolis-Marion County City-County Council, Indianapolis Power & Light will join nearly 100 others for the announcement. Details on the renovations are expected around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The foundation renovated the Athenaeum Theatre back to its original 1890s-era design last January. The theatre is home to the Young Actors Theatre, which will be performing at the announcement.
