The person selected will succeed Cassie Stockamp, who announced last month she was stepping down to pursue philanthropic opportunities throughout the world.
The nonprofit says it is looking for someone “who will continue to promote and preserve its rich and storied background while leveraging the expanding energy of the Mass Ave corridor.” Stockamp will fully transition from her role this fall.
“Reflecting back on my time as president, it’s been amazing to see the Indianapolis community truly embrace the Athenaeum and the Mass Ave corridor,” said Stockamp. “The stage is set for the organization to reach even greater heights, and I look forward to helping select the person who will lead the way.”
Stockamp’s successor will serve as the senior administrator of the foundation and will oversee the Athenaeum on Massachusetts Avenue while planning, supervising, and administering all operational functions and leading all dimensions of the foundation’s fundraising programs.
