Assisted Living Community to Open in Bloomington

Officials in Bloomington will Thursday cut the ribbon on a nearly $23 million assisted living community. Illinois-based developer Gardant Management Solutions says Evergreen Village at Bloomington will create 55 full-time and part-time jobs when fully occupied.
The community includes residential apartment-homes with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and other support services such as meals, housekeeping, laundry and transportation. It also features amenities including a bistro, activity room, general store, fitness room and theater, among others.
"We will be providing older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home,” said Evergreen Village Administrator Josh Dodds. "Residents also will benefit from all of the opportunities that will be available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs."
Evergreen Village will be regulated by the Indiana State Department of Health and also have certified nursing assistants on duty 24 hours a day.
The community is the latest developed in Indiana by Gardant. Earlier this year, the developer opened senior communities in Indianapolis, Muncie and Michigan City. Gardant also has projects currently under development in Lafayette, Elkhart, Indianapolis and Kokomo.
