Aslanova will assume the role on July 6 following the retirement of current president and chief executive officer JoEllen Florio Rossebo.
The Indianapolis-based organization says Aslanova brings more than 20 years of experience working in arts administration and leadership, marketing, fundraising, and program development.
“From the first interview, she impressed everyone with her confidence, understanding of the organization, experience in strategic planning and marketing, and most importantly her passion for arts integrated education,” said Board Chair Susan Oliver. “As we celebrate 60 years as an organization this year, the board is excited to see Anya expand Arts for Learning’s reach now and into the future.”
Previously, Aslanova was the director of Educational Development at the Indianapolis Art Center where she led the strategic plan of the education program. In her most recent position at Park Tudor School, Aslanova oversaw the school’s donor database conversion and developed a plan for long-term database management.
“As a parent and a community member, I have long admired Arts for Learning and appreciated its influence on our community, especially on the many young people who have been impacted through its programs.” said Aslanova. “It is my privilege to work with the staff, teaching artists, and the board as we continue to grow Arts for Learning’s footprint in the community. I am excited and honored to be given the opportunity to build upon the legacy of this dynamic institution.”
Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, the organization says Aslanova came to the United States as a high-school exchange student. She later taught art and design classes as an adjunct faculty member for Anderson University.
