The Indiana Arts Commission has awarded grants to more than 40 Hoosier artists. The organization says the support will help artists in areas including crafts, media arts and photography with career development projects.
For the first time, the IAC says this grant cycle included a separate grant category for artists who have been pursuing an arts career for less than five years. Applicants could request grant support of up to $2,000. The latest round of grants totals more than $82,000.
The Individual Advancement Program, previously known as the Individual Artists Program, launched in 1999 as part of a strategic plan to support artists and create positive community impact. It was the result of a two-year research study focusing on artist needs.
