McDevitt, who has served as a historic preservation specialist at ARCH for the past three years, succeeds Michael Galbraith, who stepped down in July.
ARCH focuses on historic preservation in Allen County. During her time at ARCH, McDevitt wrote numerous nominations for the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Tax Credit applications and conducted field survey work for the Allen County Historic Sites and Structures Survey.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed working at ARCH these past three years and am excited to expand my role in the organization," said McDevitt. "I also want to thank Michael for his leadership and dedication to ARCH and wish him all the best. ARCH has experienced wonderful growth under Michael’s direction and I’m looking forward to carrying that momentum forward. Historic Preservation can and should play a vital role in our community as it grows and evolves and I feel fortunate to be able to advocate for Historic Preservation in Fort Wayne through my work at ARCH."
Galbraith left ARCH to join the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership as director of the Road to One Million effort.
