Subscribe NowAnthem Inc. has appointed Prakash Patel executive vice president and president of the diversified business group, effective August 6. In this role, he will be responsible for leading Anthem’s Diversified Business Group, which includes the company’s AIM, CareMore, Health Insights and HealthCore businesses. Patel will also serve as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
He has more than 23 years of experience across a broad scope of healthcare disciplines, including pharmaceutical, managed care, strategy, corporate development, operations and clinical services experience, including complex care management. Patel has been recognized for his ability to both shape and grow organizations through a combination of strategic vision and strong operational expertise. He currently serves as chief operating officer of the GuideWell Enterprise and Florida Blue, as well as president of GuideWell Health. Prior to his current role, Patel served as chief executive officer of Access Mediquip and has held executive roles with Magellan Health Services, Internet Healthcare Group and Scheer & Co.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in anthropology and zoology from the University of Michigan and his Medical Doctorate degree from Cornell University Medical College.
